About Compress PDF

Which preset should I choose?

Lossless only rewrites structure. Balanced defaults to 200 DPI / 0.75; strong uses 150 DPI / 0.60 for eligible high-resolution RGB JPEG images.

Why is the PDF barely smaller?

The source may already be optimized, or image encoding, color or usage may be unsupported. Original images are preserved with reasons; output never exceeds the source size.

Are PDFs uploaded?

No. Compression and previews run locally in your browser without sign-in. The original file is retained.

Are fonts removed, and can small text change?

Used embedded fonts are preserved without subsetting. Lossless keeps JPEG bytes. Lossy downsampling can soften small scanned text; inspect actual output before downloading.
